Dining at Cashtown Inn

A Taste of History

At the historic Cashtown Inn, dining is about more than just a meal. It’s about enjoying good food, genuine hospitality, and the unique charm of a historic setting. We believe in keeping things welcoming and comfortable while taking pride in the quality, preparation, and flavors of the food we serve. Whether you’re joining us for dinner or stopping in for a leisurely Sunday breakfast, we invite you to relax, enjoy your meal, and make yourself at home.

Casual Fine Dining

Wednesday - Saturday 4 PM - 9 PM

Our dinner service offers a casual fine dining experience that combines familiar favorites with thoughtfully prepared dishes. We are typically open Wednesday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

One of our priorities is preparing food with care rather than relying on shortcuts. Whenever possible, we source ingredients from local farmers and butchers, supporting the people and businesses in our surrounding communities. Much of our cooking is done from scratch, including sauces, stocks, and demi-glaces prepared in-house. We believe that taking the time to build flavors from the ground up makes a difference, and that attention to detail is an important part of the dining experience we strive to provide.

A Dining Tradition Rooted in History

The history of dining at the Cashtown Inn stretches back more than two centuries. Originally built by Peter Marck in 1797, the Inn first served as a tavern before becoming a stagecoach stop where travelers could find a meal and a place to rest during their journeys.

That tradition of welcoming travelers and serving food has remained part of the Inn’s story throughout the years. Even today, remnants of its early culinary history can be seen in the cellar, where the original brick ovens still stand as a reminder of the meals prepared here generations ago.

Dining at the Cashtown Inn offers a connection to the past while allowing guests to create new memories of their own. Whether you are visiting Gettysburg, exploring the surrounding countryside, or simply looking for a special place to enjoy a meal, we are proud to continue this longstanding tradition of hospitality.

Sunday Brunch

Sundays 9AM - 12PM

Sunday mornings bring a different kind of dining experience to the Inn. Open to the public from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, our breakfast service focuses on traditional, down-home cooking made with quality ingredients and a little old-fashioned charm.

We use cast iron cookware whenever possible, embracing the familiar flavors and cooking methods that make a hearty breakfast feel like home. Our approach is simple: good food, comforting favorites, and a welcoming atmosphere where you can slow down and enjoy your morning.

Our pancakes have developed quite a following over the years. Guests regularly tell us they are the best they've had, and we are often asked what makes them so special. We'll let you enjoy the mystery for yourself!

Another guest favorite is our locally sourced “Cashtown Bacon.” When we first began serving this bacon to our overnight guests, people would frequently ask where they could buy it to take home. We began sending them to our local butcher and telling them to ask for the Cashtown Bacon. Before long, it became a tradition of its own. Today, some guests arrive with coolers specifically so they can visit the butcher and bring some home with them.
